Food Insecurity in Metro Atlanta
AEUFN works toward the elimination of food insecurity in Metro Atlanta by building on existing infrastructure of faith institutions to create and strengthen hyper-local food cultures.
The Atlanta Community Food Bank estimates that more than 755,000 people in Metro Atlanta and North Georgia are food insecure, turning to food pantries and meal services to feed themselves and their families.(1)

This isn’t just an issue in areas that most “traditionally” think about -the “inner city” or obviously poverty stricken areas. Food insecurity is increasingly a problem in the suburbs.
